Paint It Black By Rolling Stones

This song is about a woman who died and her lover that is very upset. This man is obviously singing because he is depressed. He feels like everything in his world should just be black and dead as well. Everything that he sees is sad and depressing. In one of the lines it says "I see a line of cars and they're all painted black." This line is referring to hearses, and he sees them everywhere.

He also sings about how death is so unexpected and sudden sometimes that it catches you off gaurd. One line says "I could not forsee this thing happening to you." This line is saying how he didn't think that she would ever die but she did so suddenly. The lines following that say, "If I look hard enough into teh setting sun, My love will laugh with me before the morning comes." This is talking about her in heaven.

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

I see a line of cars and they're all painted black
With flowers and my love, both never to come back
I see people turn their heads and quickly look away
Like a newborn baby it just happens ev'ryday

No more will my green sea go turn a deeper blue
I could not forsee this thing happening to you
If I look hard enough into the setting sun
My love will laugh with me before the morning comes
I look inside myself and see my heart is black
I see my red door and it has been painted black
Maybe then I'll fade away and not have to face the facts
It's not easy facing up when your whole world is black

I see a red door and I want it painted black
No colors anymore I want them to turn black
I see the girls walk by dressed in their summer clothes
I have to turn my head until my darkness goes

Hmm, hmm, hmm...

I wanna see it painted black, painted black
Black as night, black as coal
I wanna see the sun, blotted out from the sky
I wanna see it painted, painted, painted, painted black
Yeah

Hmm, hmm, hmm...

I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett and the Blackhearts

I Love Rock and Roll is a fun, carefree song. It was originally recorded by The Arrows, a British group, in 1975. This song is pretty much associated with bad behavior. The woman in this song goes after a much younger guy, and as we all know, in todays society this is known as being a cougar.

This song sends out the message of being crazy and going after whatever you want. I like this song because it's a very song and it's really easy to listen to because it's catchy. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts really hit it big with this song, and it is one of their best known songs.

I Love Rock and Roll
I saw him dancin' there by the record machine
I knew he must a been about seventeen
The beat was goin' strong
Playin' my favorite song
An' I could tell it wouldn't be long
Till he was with me, yeah me, singin'

I love rock n' roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me

He smiled so I got up and' asked for his name
That don't matter, he said,
'Cause it's all the same

Said can I take you home where we can be alone

An' next we were movin' on
He was with me, yeah me

Next we were movin' on
He was with me, yeah me, singin'

I love rock n' roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me

Said can I take you home where we can be alone

An we'll be movin' on
An' singin' that same old song
Yeah with me, singin'

I love rock n' roll
So put another dime in the jukebox, baby
I love rock n' roll
So come an' take your time an' dance with me

Jailhouse Rock by Elvis

This song was one of Elvis' most famous songs. It was written by Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller to go along with Elvis' movie Jailhouse Rock. This song became very famous in 1957 and is number 67 on the Rolling Stones 500 greatest songs of all time list.

Jailhouse Rock is about a wrongly accused person being put in jail and becoming a star when he gets out because people realized that he was wrongly accused. I really like this song because it's fun, upbeat, and is truely a classic. Elvis is one of the greatest artists ever and I really like the kind of music that he played.

Jailhouse Rock by Elvis
The warden threw a party in the county jail
The prison band was there and they began to wail
The band was jumpin' and the joint began to swing
You should've heard those knocked out jailbirds sing

Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock

Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone
Little Joe was blowin' on the slide trombone
The drummer boy from Illinois went crash, boom, bang
The whole rhythm section was a purple gang

Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock

Number 47 said to number 3
"You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see
I sure would be delighted with your company
Come on and do the Jailhouse Rock with me"

Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock, Rock, Rock

Sad Sack was sittin' on a block of stone
Way over in the corner weepin' all alone
The warden said, "Hey, buddy, don't you be no square
If you can't find a partner use a wooden chair"

Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock

Shifty Henry said to Bugs, "For Heaven's sake
No one's lookin', now's the chance to make a break"
Bugsy turned to Shifty and he said, "Nix nix
I wanna stick around a while and get my kicks"

Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock

Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock, dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock, dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock, dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock

Call Me by Blondie

This song is a really good song, but it is also really sad. Call Me is another song about a prostitute, but this one is a little different. The woman in this song was forced to be a prostitute because she was poor. She was sad and scared to show her identity to anyone. What she didn't know was that everyone already knew who she was and we're looking down on her for it.

I love this song because it really shows the judgemental side of people. She felt like she didn't have a choice and everyone was so fast to judge her. I think that Blondie really did good with this song. People are always so fast to judge everyone else, and that is the sad reality of the world that we live in.

Call Me by Blondie
Call on me, oh call up, baby.
Call on me, oh call.
Call on me oh call up, darling.
I know who you are.
Come up off your calling chart.
I know where you're coming from.
Call me (call me) on the line.
Call me, call me any anytime.
Call me (call me), I'll arrive.
You can call me any day or night.
Call me!
Cover me with kisses, baby.
Cover me with love.
Roll me in designer sheets.
I'll never get enough.
Emotions come, I don't know why.
Cover of love's alibi.
Call me (call me) on the line.
Call me, call me any anytime.
Call me (call me), I'll arrive.
When you're ready we can share the wine.
Call me.
Ooh, he speaks the languages of love.
Ooh, amore, chiamami (chiamami).
